A tough day walk to Hidden Falls on Mt Eliot, Bowling Green Bay National Park, with 11 walkers tackling humid creek travel, rock hopping, boulder scrambling, scenic pools, cascades, rainforest vines, and a 30 metre waterfall hidden in St Margaret's Creek.
Pelorus Island 2017
A three-day island adventure with the club on Pelorus Island, featuring camping on the coral beach, rainforest traverses, summit walks, snorkelling reefs, oysters at low tide, and stunning coastal views. Rugged, remote, and unforgettable.

This 15 km point-to-point hike through Paluma Range National Park links Paluma Dam to Paradise Waterhole via Big Crystal Falls, Gold Creek Falls, Cloudy Lookout, and rainforest creek crossings - a classic Wet Tropics walk with waterfalls and swims.
Hell Hole Gorge, Button Rock, and Running Creek 2016
A classic adventure through Hell Hole Gorge, Button Rock, and Running Creek in Paluma/Hidden Valley area. This 2016 trip featured remote gorge walking, granite climbs, creek swims, overland navigation, camping, and big North Queensland views.
Crystal Creek and bottom falls
An exploratory bushwalk to the base of Crystal Creek Falls near Paluma revealed rugged jungle, slippery creek scrambling, cliffs, and hidden gorges. A tough but rewarding adventure with unfinished business for future trips.
Hencamp Creek 2016
Ten walkers explored Hencamp Creek, rockhopping past waterfalls and cascades before bushbashing up a bluff to reach a hidden falls. A rugged 13.4 km adventure with swims, steep climbs, and plenty of creekside challenges.
Paluma Dam to Paradise via Bullocky Toms Track
A 15 km rainforest trek from Paluma Dam to Paradise Waterhole with waterfalls, Gold Creek Falls swim, Cloudy Lookout views, creek rock-hopping, and a refreshing finish at Paradise. Perfect summer hike.
Two Waterfalls - Sunday 29th November 2015
Townsville Bushwalking Club’s Crystal & Gold Falls hike turned into adventure and emergency. Stunning swims, steep scrambles, and a helicopter rescue tested teamwork and preparation, with all walkers safely out by nightfall. A reminder of both beauty and risks in Mt Spec’s waterfalls.
Go Walking: Mount Halifax
Mt Halifax (1,063 m) near Rollingstone is a steep, challenging 10 km return hike with ropes, ridgelines, waterfalls, and rainforest. This tough full-day climb rewards experienced bushwalkers with sweeping views across Townsville and the coast. Best tackled in dry months with full gear.
