Blue Gum Circuit, Paluma - Trip Report

The Blue Gum Circuit is an 11 km loop on the south side of Paluma Village that winds through lush rainforest, past Triple Falls, through Star Valley along Blue Gum Creek, and on to the old Wolfram mines. The track has plenty of variety: steep climbs and descents, creek crossings, some rock hopping, and a few rope-assisted sections. Water levels were really low this time, so we didn’t need the ropes for the creek crossings.

We stopped at Triple Falls for a quick break before heading down into Blue Gum Valley, then continued on to Miners Creek Falls for lunch. Old tin-mining relics are still scattered through the forest - a fascinating reminder of Paluma's past.
