Bowling Green Bay National Park
A relaxed Killymoon Creek adventure, rock hopping upstream through glorious creek country, green ants, granite boulders, a resident eel, and even a "dragon egg". Dry conditions meant no swim this time, but the creek still delivered plenty of character.
Paluma
Nine walkers tackled Mount Halifax, reaching the cloud-covered summit after five hours. A fleeting view over Halifax Bay, lunch in the cool air, and a refreshing foot soak at Rope Falls capped off a great trip.

Five walkers explored a dry creek in Bowling Green Bay National Park, discovering granite waterfalls, rugged scrambling, sweeping views, feral boars, and one memorable encounter with a stinging tree.

Seven hikers explored Walkers Creek's granite boulders, clear pools, cascades, and waterfalls on a rewarding club adventure led by Cherry Judge, with swimming, scrambling, route-finding, and sweeping views across the coastal plains. Accessed via private property.

Four canyoners tackled Crystal Canyon near Townsville, completing more than 15 abseils, swims, scrambling, and a steep Bullocky Tom's Track approach in just under nine hours.

A small-group overnight bushwalk to DCK Hut in Paluma, exploring Wilfred’s Lookout, Torsten’s Rock Garden, Crystal Creek Falls, Gold Creek Falls, old tin mining sites, Buttercup Lookout, and Paluma's rich rainforest history.
Charters Towers Region
Ride the Quartz Bikepacking Route from Mingela to Nome via Ravenswood, White Blow, Doug Haigh Lookout, Clare, and the Haughton River. A remote two-day gravel adventure with camping, river crossings, wildlife, quiet roads, and outback scenery.
