Brown Mountain Gorge.

Discover Brown Mountain Gorge at Mingela, Reid River on this 1962 bushwalk. A 5-mile hike with rock climbing, abseiling practice, and scenic gorge exploration. The Club enjoyed an easy outing with climbs up 20–60 ft faces, creekside tea, and a refreshing swim before returning home.

Left Court House late at 10.30 AM. Began the walk at 12.30. P.M. Lunched at 600 ft. at 1.30. P.M. takin an hour. At 2.30. moved on into the gorge, and began the further ascent. Arrived at a rock-climb site at 3. P.M. some members practised repelling on the north face, about 20 ft high. Other members did a repil over 60 ft face.

After boiling the billy & drinking tea we left at 5. P.M. for returns to the vehicles reaching them at 6. P.M.

Most of the party (except members in Pete's car) drove the two miles to Reid's River to have tea, some swam.

Impromptu meeting and was held to decide fate of "N.F.C." in lodge. It was decided that the letters "N.F.C." did belong in the lodge.

At. 8.10 P.M. began the motor journey home.

All arrived safely.
