Chunda Bay (Ticklebelly)
Discover Chunda Bay (Ticklebelly) and Paradise Bay on the Cleveland Coast near Townsville. This 1960s bushwalk featured rocky scrambles at Cape Woora, oysters on the rocks, and swims at sandy coves. A scenic North Queensland coastal adventure of cliffs, beaches, and rugged beauty.

8.05 Left Townsville.
9.15 Drove cars across saltpan (can get damp at high tide) and left them at the Windmill (30 miles from T'ville).
Intended to walk along the road to Chunda Bay (4 wheel drive only) but were given lift right to the end. The road continues past Chunda Bay to the next beach known as Paradise Bay. Elephant Rock (Bald Islet) is a good landmark.
10.00 Walked to N. end of beach and scrambled along the rocks of Cape Woora.
10.45 Morning tea. Oysters on rocks.
11.30 Followed the coast to a point level with Bray Islet. View of Sandy Cove ahead but not time to explore further.
12.50 Returned to Paradise Bay for lunch and swim.
2.20 Cut across Cape Ferguson and picked up the track.
3.45 Track joined road.
5.00 Reached Windmill.
This section of the Cleveland Coast is full of interest. The variety of rugged cliffs and rocks and beautiful sandy beaches make it an excellent trip.
