Emmet Creek
Emmet Creek, south of Townsville on Highway 1, offers a steep bushwalk with rewarding views from the top. Though swimming holes are limited, hikers can reach the creek’s source in a day, making it a unique North Queensland adventure for those seeking rugged terrain and scenic outlooks.
Emmet is situated miles south of Townsville on Highway 1. Cars can be parked on a track S.W. of road bridge.
This is a particularly steep creek but does not carry a lot of water, hence there are few swimming holes. A good view is obtained from the top. It is one of the few creeks whose source can be reached in a day's outing.
