Emmett Creek 1983

Discover Emmett Creek near Mt Elliot, a small yet adventurous gorge with granite, basalt intrusions, scree slopes, and wildlife from Ulysses butterflies to rock wallabies and a massive python. Best explored in June–July, this 1983 North Queensland bushwalk offers white water and wild beauty.

A small, but quite sporting creek. On bedrock, a trickle of water, even so late as September. Granite, small basalt intrusions. Near top, flattens to large scree. Ulysses and large black butterfly, rock wallaby and HUGE PYTHON. Best time June and July, when white water is high and mosquito menace low.
