Mt Spec
Hike Mt Spec via Waterfall Creek, Shay’s Clearing, Bambaroo and Bullocky Tom’s tracks. This 1970 bushwalk featured rainforest creeks, barefoot scrambling, abundant fruit, and rugged climbs. A classic North Queensland adventure best done in the dry season for safety and rewarding views.

Observations
* an excellent trip.
- * Trip (1) was in the dry period of the year. time up was of the order of 5 hours.
- * Trip (2) was in Feb. The weather was wet ∴ 'millions' of mossies made the trip unpleasant from this aspect.
— also the trip down the creek was 'bare-feet' the whole way.
was in fact dangerous. Time down about 8 hours.
However at Shay's in Feb. persimmons & cooking pears are in full glorious fruit.
∴ dry time best for this creek walk route finding easy rating medium.

These tracks well known to the club.
The new route (via Insulator Creek) to pick-up Bambaroo Track is recommended both for coming down & going up.
1 day Insulator Ck -> Johnson's Clearing
1 day Johnson's Clearing -> Crystal Creek.
One of the club's finest trips.
