Refer article P171.

This track has not been used by the Club for some years. The last trip was in 1975 (Stan Coram, Ian Davis, myself + one other) + great difficulties presented because of the cyclonic damage to the tracks.

  1. Waterfall information additional to P171.
Traverse over ridge route to Bombora again proved to be excellent.
  2. The Ingham CMF has recently visited this track according to Lyston Wright).
Some helpfull blazing & erecting has taken place.
  3. No problems as far as Creeks (easy) look out.

The track became lost after high ridge point approx 1 hr. after bushett's lookout.
Track appears to take/go roughly South a loop to the brush ridge top & down must eventually strike Foxlee's Track.

  1. Some invaluable information was obtained from Mr Julian Nott of the National Parks & WLS - regarding the last way to find the track out of
    Johnstones Clearing

Ex the clearing

" We left D 9.25 am along Dolby Ck. It was 430 paces to the place where we turned off to go to the top of the ridge. A further 500 paces brought us to the top of the ridge on to track.

From here we headed south to Big Crystal. At 200 paces there was a crossroad. It is important to go straight across the crossroad & not take any of the side tracks. At 850 paces we reached Big Crystal & Pelham Huts.

This info was invaluable.

The 930 paces equalled 300 of my paces. Figures are different starting points.

*Fashon Ck from bivouac.

*At cowywly 400 pace, a big rock area appears on LHS + ck starts to fall down in a height.

*Lex... Ck sss .... bauk of similar rock & a climb above it looking down on ck.

*Simple blazed path is found just past a waist-high rock on top of this bank.

Footnote. In 1975 we had great difficulty

  1. On the lower reaches of Bullocky Tom's track, I was for the first time, followed & cleaned the track almost to the creek.

Again, a fabulous trip.
