Ollera Creek - Banana Creek - Star River - Paluma - 1972
Ollera Creek to Banana Creek, Star River and Paluma, Queen’s Birthday 1972: a gruelling 45-mile trek with steep gullies, cyclone-damaged ridges, tangled wait-a-while rainforest, rock-hopping creeks, cascades and grazing country. A tough but rewarding North Queensland bushwalking adventure.

Queen's Birthday Weekend 1972.

①-② Steep part of Ollera Ck not prev. visited - well worthwhile!
②-③ Open-forest ridge - plenty of cyclone damage
③-④ Rainforest full of waitawhile - from 3 to campsite very slow - & painful - from campsite to ④ in wider creek ∴ OK.
④-⑤ Rainforest, by creek, pools, cascades, rock-hopping - beautiful
⑤ to campsite SUN. Cattle grazing country, fairly flat.
An excellent trip but a long way for 3 days (45 miles).
No spare time.
