Walk to the Terraces, Bowling Green National Park - Trip Report
A scenic and adventurous hike to The Terraces in Bowling Green National Park. From creek crossings and rocky climbs at Black Rock to swimming at Princess Pools and waterfalls at The Terraces, this trip had it all - challenge, teamwork, and tropical rainforest beauty.
Eleven walkers set out for the hike to The Terraces in Bowling Green National Park. The track offered a good mix of terrain, with creek crossings, rocky sections, and plenty of lush scenery along the way.
Our first major stop was Black Rock, where we took a break and enjoyed the challenge of climbing the rock face. A few of the group used the chain to assist with the ascent, taking in the great view from the top before continuing on.

From there, we made our way to Sandy Beach & Princess Pools, where we enjoyed a refreshing swim, well-earned after the morning's heat. Not long after, the rain rolled in, making the rocks and track quite slippery. At this point, some of the group decided to head back to the cars for safety.
Five walkers continued on to The Terraces, where the reward was worth the effort. We had a natural "shower" under the waterfall, another swim in the cool pools, and lunch beside the falls before making our way back.

Despite the changing weather, it was a great day out - a mix of challenge, teamwork, and fun, with plenty of good company along the way.
