What's On in August? - A Lot!
August with Townsville Bushwalking Club: make the most of the cool weather with Cloudy Creek via Mango Tree, mid-week Ethel Creek Falls, Paradise Beach coastal scramble, and a Blackhole Falls overnighter. Membership renewals due—join or renew and hit the trail in North Queensland.

Hello Friends!
We probably have a couple more months of this incredible weather, so we are doing our best to make the most of it :)
Keith's walk to the terraces this weekend is already full, but we want to do a few more walks in that area before it gets really warm, so if you have missed out, watch this space- there will be another one or 2 in September.
For those looking for an easy one, I am leading a short day to Ethel Creek Falls - all on track, but there is a catch - it is mid-week :) . I have the day off work so what better way to spend it than with a picnic morning tea at Ethel Creek falls.
Weekend getaways this month are brought to you by Luen and this one will be a real treat. Read on!

Saturday - Sunday [Overnighter] August 19 & 20 Blackhole Falls, Tully Gorge
Leader: Luen Warneke
Rated: Moderately hard. This is an on track bike ride till Elizabeth grant Falls and then we bush bash to the creek system and explore.
Description:
Join Luen on the incredible 2 day adventure.
You can choose to camp at the Tully Gorge campsite on the Friday evening.
On the first day, we'll rendezvous at the Coachable Creek camping area at 7 am. Depending on your preference, you can either ride a bike or walk along the established track to our first point of interest, Elizabeth Grant Falls. We'll dismount and leave the bikes in the forest, then continue on foot.
Our hike will lead us through the emerald-green forest to Blackhole Falls. A Grade 5 difficulty trail awaits us, requiring a keen sense of direction and a taste for off-the-beaten-track exploration. This picturesque setting boasts a breathtaking waterfall and pool, framed by a gorge adorned with vibrant greenery.
After soaking in the stunning views and perhaps taking a refreshing swim, we'll find a suitable camping spot to settle down for the night.
On Day 2 - We may devote this day to exploring other waterfalls in the near vicinity, depending on group.
You need to be self-sufficient - carry all your hiking and camping gear+ food. This is a hike-in camp, so you will be carrying your gear on your back.
Details will be emailed upon RSVP closer to the time.
